A Conversation with the Sun - Worries and Being in the Present Moment

Updated: Nov 27, 2024

A young person has worries in their heart and seeks advice from the sun.

Young person: I have worries in my heart, which prevent me from being in the present moment. What should I do?

Sun: The presence of worries does not prevent you from experiencing a deeper sense of inner peace. Both can coexist without disturbing each other. You can enjoy them.

Young person: How can I enjoy my worries?

Sun: Let go of the definitions and distinctions in your mind. Worries are just emotions, neither good nor bad. Good and bad are labels your mind created. You only need to feel them.

Young person: Do you have worries?

Sun: No. However, sometimes clouds or the moon may block my light, preventing me from shining on the Earth. But this is a normal phenomenon, natural and brief. It will pass soon.

Young person: Now I understand. Worrying emotions are also a normal phenomenon, just like the moon’s phases of waxing, waning, and full. There is no good or bad; they are neutral. Thank you! This helps me better dwelling in the present moment.

Sun: You're welcome.
